Who am i?

Born a Robert to the family Bengtson)… called Bob, then Robert… now Roban;

A journey from A to B… born to ex-pat parents in Italy… suburbs of Philadelphia — public school — Ivy League… went “West” post-graduation… San Francisco… photography apprentice… photography career… questing (questioning, questioning) everything… the (ever-unfurling) art of contemplation…

Career-wise, I’ve seen nearly everything you can imagine through a camera lens… from major conferences, to ice golf tournaments on Greenland, to micro-loan recipients in Azerbaijan, to headshots, food, fashion, events, advertising, and more.

In 2008 began a foray into interactive art, which evolved into billboards, conferences, salons, and a very special decks of ever-evolving cards…

San Francisco Bay Area as home since 1990, the past 25+ years on Marin County, loving this land where redwoods meet mountain meets sea meets where coyotes still howl…
