Who am i?

While my birth name is Robert (family name, Bengtson), a few years ago I became Roban;

What an interesting journey A to B… born in Italy to ex-pat parents… suburbs of Philadelphia from 3 months to public school to Ivy League… to “west” after college… to San Francisco… to self-taught photography and art… to questing (questioning, questioning) everything… to the art of contemplation…

Career-wise, I’ve seen nearly everything you can imagine through my camera lens… from Mayor Conferences to Greenland Ice Golf Tournaments to micro-loans in Azerbaijan to headshots, food, fashion, events, advertising, and more;

In 2008 I began a foray into interactive art, which evolved into billboards, conferences, salons, and special decks of cards…

I’ve called the San Francisco Bay Area my home since 1990, the past 25+ here in Marin County, loving this land where the redwoods meet mountain meets sea meets space to be;
