Who am i?

While my birth name is Robert (family name, Bengtson), these days I’m known as Roban;

A journey from A to B… born in Italy to ex-pat parents… suburbs of Philadelphia, public school, Ivy League… “west” post-university… San Francisco… self-taught photography… questing (questioning, questioning) everything… the (ever-unfurling) art of contemplation…

Career-wise, I’ve seen nearly everything you can imagine through a camera lens… from major conferences, to ice golf tournaments on Greenland, to micro-loans in Azerbaijan, to headshots, food, fashion, events, advertising, and more;

2008 began a foray into interactive art, which evolved into billboards, conferences, salons, and a very special decks of ever-evolving cards…

I’ve called the San Francisco Bay Area my home since 1990, the past 25+ years on Marin County, loving this land where the redwoods meets mountain meets sea meets space to be;
