”Write a letter and MAKE someone’s day!”
The debut of The Art of the Letter took place at the 2019 Maker Faire Bay Area event. We set out to use creativity and great design to inspire attendees participate… and participate they did. Over the weekend we went through over 1,000 sheets of stationery!
Adorned with metal trees of life, plaster human casts, colored directional flags, and a large, free-standing mailbox on top of a reclaimed, hand-split, old-growth redwood post, the space invited participants to select their stationery (via 10 different options), envelopes, and vintage postage stamps. One of tables also provided an array of manual typewriters from the 1920’s and 30’s, with the other tables providing rubber ink stamps, ink pads, writing pens, and colored pens and pencils.
By the end of the faire there were hundreds of envelopes in the mailbox!
An amazing, creative, meaningful experiences was seemingly had by all.
