Verto comes from the latin vertere "to transform / to change." We chose it because the vision of Verto Publishing is to use creativity and great design to transform how we communicate with ourselves and others.
Our first product offering is a greeting card line, created using design elements from actual books from the late 1800’s through the early 20th century. We digitize the pieces and then re-assemble them into fronts and backs (including the spine!), along with beautiful interior spreads with endpapers and motifs.
The vision also is to embody the original sense of quality materials, craftsmanship, and hand-made design into modern form. As still the most popular way individuals physically communicate with each other, greeting cards are first tier for meaningful experiences with others.
The cards are 100% recycled, designed & created in San Francisco, and we plant 1 tree for every 108 cards sold as a way to thank / love / give back to Earth.
