I love the power of the simple. Here this takes on the costume of these 100% beeswax candles made here in my very own nest.
I source the wax through my neighbor and beekeeper Roy who dropped out of high school once he found this passion. The bees themselves reside in Marin County, which certainly serves to make these creations “local”.
I was also pretty blown away when I made the calculations that it would take just 1 bee around 675,000 hours (or 80 years!) to make the pound of wax used in the creation of these single candles. Which, in turn, translates to a mere $0.0000035 per hour for a $27 candle!

I love making these candles. I love the smell and texture of the wax. I love the thick wicks and the bright illumination when they burn. I love the bees that make it possible and the miracles bees seem to embody in nearly everything they do.
